Requirements

1A. Escapes from arms pinned from front (2)

  • Knife hand strike to kidneys R leg behind ops R Leg, twist and Floating Hip throw
  • Groin strike/grab, heel to instep, drop slightly, when released throat strike

1B. Escapes from arms unpinned from front (2)

  • Double ear strike palm heel to nose and hand behind head.
  • Double ear strike Stigmatic Twist

1C. Escapes from arms pinned from rear (2)

  • Raise both arms and duck under or
  • heel strike to shin and instep, stamp throw.
  • Heel strike to shin and instep, step to left, double leg scoop

1D. Escapes from arms unpinned from rear (2)

  • Knuckle strike to back of hand and or Heel strike to shin and instep, take ops thumb with opposite hand apply pressure and wristlock
  • Knuckle strike to back of hand, thigh slap leg takedown between legs.

2. Strangles and Chokes (various)

  • The student to show the application of strangles and chokes as a defence following various types of attacks.
  • Double Knuckle application from right and left hook
  • Arm bars from S block and double block
  • Single wing choke and fig 4 choke from straight punch
  • Sleeper hold from straight punch (over 16s only)

3. Breaking Ground Strangles /chokes (6)

  • Behind head laying down Slap ears, knee to head turn over strike carotid
  • Behind head sitting Back strike Pull elbow push wrist and slip through
  • At the side strike Solar plexus with R palmheel knee in chest L leg over neck into arm bar.
  • Sitting on the stomach Wrap L arm around ops R. R palmheel strike to shoulder twist off
  • Kneeling between the legs finger strike to lymph glands or trap ops wrists, push ops knee with R foot,leg over neck and arm lock.
  • Kneeling on arms (arms pinned) lift buttocks and twist

4. Escapes from Strangles and Chokes Standing. Students own at least 6 (various)

5. Escapes from Garrotting (4)

  • From front, strike, loosen garrotte (pull and push on elbow) and Hock
  • From front, srtke, loosen garrotte (pull and push on elbow) and ThrowFrom behind Block with arm before garrotte is applied and Throw
  • From behind back strike and double leg takedown

6. Escapes from Full Nelson (3)

  • Reverse Stamp Throw
  • Double leg throw (scoop)
  • Drop through

7. Escapes from Half Nelson. (2)

  • Back heel strike and leg throw or single leg scoop or shoulder lock.
  • Second Version, bend L Elbow and escape L arm move round and apply shoulder lock or if preferred, stamp throw

8. Back Scissor Throw (2)

  • From right hook go under R leg behind and back scissor
  • From Right roundhouse right cross block and gi grab left throw

9. Front Scissor throw (single or double leg) (1 or 2)

  • Parry R to stomach, trap arm, L leg in front, R leg behind, takedown

10. Drawing ankle throw

  • From R swing, sidestep, trap R ankle with L. Pull with R push with left
